Coins Featured in Our Calculator
Our silver coin calculator will calculate the melt value of US junk silver coins. Dimes, quarters, half dollars, and dollar coins minted before 1965 are 90% silver. Nickels minted from 1942-1945 are 35% silver. Half dollars minted from 1965-1970 are 40% silver. Eisenhower dollars minted from 1971-1973 are 40% silver.
We remind you that in most cases, these junk silver coins will be worth more than their silver melt value. Most of these coins in good condition or better will have numismatic value so they can sell for a premium on the open market.
